Psoriasis

Dermatology Specialists, P.A. is pleased to offer state of the art therapy for psoriasis. This therapy includes all of the standard topical medications such as corticosteroids, tar, calcipotrieve, tazarotene, tacrolimus and pimecrolimus. Oral medications used include acitretin, methotrexate and cyclosporine. We also use the exciting new biologic medications, recently approved by the FDA. These medications include infliximab, etanercept, efalizumab and alefacept. It is anticipated that additional biologic medications will be approved by the FDA in the near future.

In addition to the above therapies, we also offer the most up to date for of light therapy (“phototherapy”), narrow band UVB. This highly effective treatment may be used in combination with medications applied to the skin as well as internal medications to produce excellent results.
