Summary  

The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including all aspects of the recruitment process, payroll administration, benefits, leave and enforcing company policies and procedures.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist with administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements. 
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, physicians and staff leads to recruit, interview, select, and recommend qualified candidates for all positions. 
  • Process and maintain all personnel records related to new hires, employee reviews, coaching, performance improvement, promotions, transfers, and separations. 
  • Development and documentation of organizational policies. 
  • Coordinates training programs, personal and career development, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity, and benefit programs. 
  • Conduct investigation, respond and resolve employee relation issues i.e. employee complaints and harassment allegations.  Engage employee supervisor as appropriate.  
  • Coordinate annual staff performance reviews and support leadership throughout the process. 
  • Work with the Executive Director to identify salary ranges for each position within the organization, including performing an annual market analysis.    
  • Coordinate and conduct employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.  
  • Process and maintain medical and worker’s compensation records for employees, including claim submission for workers comp insurance policy. 
  • Maintain all aspects of employee leave of absences.  
  • Create and update employee job descriptions for current and new positions. 
  • Maintain payroll related records, recording the accrual and use of PTO including vacations, holidays, sick days and miscellaneous leaves of absence including FMLA. 
  • Understands and communicates to employees the benefit programs including medical, dental, life, disability, supplemental life insurance, and 401k retirement program.  
  • Coordinate distribution/communication of projects including but not limited to Employee Policy handbook, 401(k) open enrollment, and employee recognition. 
  • Approve enrollment of new employees, changes, and terminations in HRIS system. 
  • Create an Employee Experience program containing strategies around community service, employee education, employee wellness and company social events. 
  • Coordinate programs to attract qualified candidates through the design and placement of position announcements and advertising. 
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services.  
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, and two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Federal and State employment law. PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.  The candidate will have the ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees and will possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 

The qualified candidate is able to work independently exercising sound judgment, is highly motivated, maintains confidentiality, communicates well, enjoys working in a team, and is open to change and process improvement. 

As a condition of employment, Dermatology Specialists does require a current Influenza vaccination. 

Working conditions 

We operate a positive and professional environment for patients and staff. Our physicians and staff at Dermatology Specialists take pride in our work as caring health professionals while keeping the patient’s best interest in mind. 

40 hours a week is the norm, though there may be times that longer hours are necessary. Since the clinics operate extended hours, the Human Resource Manager may be called at all hours to deal with issues.  

Physical requirements 

Office work required to stand, walk, sit, and carry items less than 25 pounds.  Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
